FOR PARENTS AND ADULTS

AWKWARD CONVERSATIONS VIDEO SERIES

Starting a conversation about drug use with your teens can be pretty uncomfortable. This can especially be true if you have history of drug use or experimenting in the past. You might wonder: how can I talk about the dangers of drug use without feeling like a hypocrite?

This issue, along with others, is tackled in a new three-part video series released by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and the Drug Enforcement Administration called Awkward Conversations. The videos focus on the awkward conversations parents and their kids have when talking about drug use. Each episode is followed by a discussion hosted by actress Jodie Sweetin.

"It really does take a 'village' to raise kids and none of us has all the answers,” Sweetin said. “That's what I loved about the honesty of these conversations. That they weren't perfect, but they opened the door to talking more."
